Resist All Attempts to Disarm the Law Abiding
Good faith, common sense measures designed in earnest to prevent criminals and the mentally ill from easily acquiring firearms should be always be granted reasonable consideration. But you and I haven't done anything wrong.
The U.S. Supreme Court case District of Columbia v. Heller (2008) established that the Second Amendment protects the right of INDIVIDUALS to keep and bear arms. The Court ruled that the Second Amendment says the Right of individual PEOPLE – NOT the Individual State governments and/or the National Guard units ("well-regulated militia") under their command – but the Right of individual PEOPLE to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Moreover, as for which arms, exactly, the people are entitled to keep and bear, the court ruled that arms "in common use" and arms that are "bearable" – even those that were not in existence at the time of the founding – are protected under the Second Amendment.
