The People of Delaware Deserve Nice Things

Activist judges – who think that what's "fair" and "not fair" is something that they should get to decide for everyone – are now chasing corporate business out of Delaware. We're in REAL DANGER of losing our 100 year old reputation of being the best state to incorporate in. When that happens, we're ALL going to be in a lot of trouble!

The Looming Spectre of DExit is upon us

There is a growing perception in the business world that Delaware's Court of Chancery is shifting away from its traditionally pro-business stance, which has been a key advantage in maintaining Delaware's status as the preferred state for incorporation.

How did this happen? For over a hundred years Delaware was universally recognized as the best State to incorporate in. What went wrong? What changed? The answer is simple; We now live in a one-party State where Liberal Democrats have TOTAL CONTROL. That's EXACTLY how these egomaniacal judges who are making corporations pack up and leave Delaware get appointed.

DID YOU KNOW THAT:

  • Franchise taxes and corporate fees make up over 40% of Delaware's General Fund revenue.
  • In 2023, Delaware collected around $1.5 billion from incorporation-related fees and franchise taxes.
  • Delaware is home to over 1.8 million business entities, including more than 66% of Fortune 500 companies.

If "DExit" continues, the loss of corporate registrations will severely impact Delaware's budget, requiring tax hikes and spending cuts elsewhere. To stop "DExit," Delaware needs to RESTORE CORPORATE CONFIDENCE IN OUR STATE GOVERNMENT.

And make no mistake: If we lose our reputation as the best State to incorporate in and businesses look for greener pastures in places like Nevada, Wyoming, and Texas, Delaware's days of being a sales-tax–free haven will be over! It may already be too late, but we have to act quickly if there's any hope of stoping the corporate exodus from Delaware.

As your State Senator, I will prioritize:

  • Judicial Reform
    • Push for clearer legal standards to prevent an activist judges from assuming dictatorial roles in corporate cases.
    • Press for more judicial accountability and advocate for Judicial term limits.
    • Lobby to decentralize judicial appointments so as to expand the role of the State Legislature in the process.
  • Protecting Delaware's Business Reputation
Advocate for laws that give companies more control over executive pay and corporate decisions.
  • Engaging Business Leaders
Meet with CEOs and legal experts to understand concerns and find solutions.
  • Stopping the Corporate Exodus
Offer competitive incentives and reforms to keep companies from leaving Delaware.

Business Booms, Life Blooms: Creating REAL VALUE is the key a Top-Notch Quality of Life for EVERYONE!

Wealthy communities and areas typically have:

  • Great Schools and Universities
  • Top Notch Health Care Resources
  • Well Maintained Roads and Infrastructure
  • World-Class Recreational Facilities
  • Thriving Art, Entertainment, and Music Scenes
  • Robust Job Opportunities

For Delaware to shine with the best of these, we have to work harder to attract large‑scale private sector industry.

Government has become the largest employer in the State of Delaware, and that is a huge part of why our quality of life has become stagnant. Things like Technology, Manufacturing, and Medicine create wealth. Government does not.

Restaurants, boutique shops, small retailers, and family-owned service businesses are wonderful for our community, but they can't form the foundation of a truly prosperous local economy. These types of local businesses can only thrive if some larger players that produce value-added goods and services for a global customer base are present.

Moreover, even government employees are at a disadvantage when there's no local private sector economic activity that's big and strong - because when they have fewer good-paying alternatives, they have a lot less leverage and bargaining power, and are stuck in a "take it or leave it" situation with respect to career advancement and better compensation.

If we want to have nice things for ourselves, our children, and our children's children, then tax incentives, regulatory reform, workforce development, and infrastructure improvements must be on the front burner of our State Legislature AT ALL TIMES. As your State Senator, I will prioritize giving Delaware the most business-friendly environment in the nation.

The wealth created by larger corporate businesses reverberates throughout the entire local economy:
